On August 9, 2015, I was hit by an 18-wheel commercial drunk truck driver, en route to a 3-week wilderness solo of long distance swimming and kayaking to dive deep into the dreaming of what was next in my life. In the near-death experience, I suffered a traumatic brain injury, lumbar spine and neck injuries. I was catapulted to an internal wilderness solo that lasted 2 years plus. Unable to watch TV, read, verbalize much or “DO”, I learned how to “BE”. I began a practice upon waking each morning and going to sleep each evening of doing Cathy’s NOT ART Art. This practice helped me express what was moving deep inside of me. About 5 months in, I began adding haikus to each of the pieces. I will let Cathy’s NOT ART Art tell a story of the multiple layers and stages of my healing journey!
